Hey friends! This was our Thanksgiving 2021 look! My oldest son was the photographer so he’s not in this photo with his siblings. I think two out of three is a good compromise! Right now my little two are receiving all my custom sewing time. They’re also more excited by my makes, but all the three of them have a strict 5-minute photo cooperation! So there’s no way I sew for my kids for the photos, but they sure look great!

These photos are from my Galaxy S21. They look better on instagram, but since I started blogging my sewing makes, I dream of an iphone or any other small camera for better photo quality! I love android, but I know its time for a camera investment! I’ll keep you posted on new gear I purchase. Anyway, onto the sewing details of our Thanksgiving 2021 outfit.
BOYS’ TUNIC SHIRT
My son’s tunic shirt is from my boys’ thobe shop, www.yftthobeshop.com. In September, I finalized infant sizing with my pattern maker. I had to make a cute seasonal shirt! I don’t have tunic shirts for sale yet; this was a fun seasonal style to make and maybe there will be more in the future! The orange gingham fabric is from fabricwholesaledirect.com and I highly recommend if you are small business. The prices and shipping times are excellent!
GIRLS SKIRT AND TOP SET
My daughter’s top and skirt set is a sewing pattern I purchased from Etsy Shop Mingo & Grace. It’s the Gigi Crop Top Skirt Set. This is a solid pattern and the sizing is accurate. I cut a size 5 in the skirt and top. I measured the elastic for the skirt before cutting. Here’s the link to the sewing pattern:

MY OUTFIT
My gingham spaghetti strap dress is from A New Day from Target. This fabric is a touch softer than the orange plaid from FWD. I purchased this dress in July on clearance, but it’s the perfect fall dress! There was one size left in a Medium. It was big on me, especially the bodice. Taking in the side seams and waist darts made such a difference! When my clothes fit properly, I feel less sloppy and it looks so much better in photos. The top fit before my alterations, however after my alterations it felt more expensive than a basic Target dress! I took in about 1″ on the side seams and 1/2 inch on the darts. The back is smocked and very stretchy so I think that’s why I adjusted so much, even though it was only one size larger.

If I had the time, I would’ve taken the whole bodice apart and removed an inch from the waistline so it would sit at my exact waist, and look and feel even better.
Onto the December looks! Follow me on instagram to see what I’m working on next! Thanks for reading!
