Hi and welcome to my website! My name is Ammara and I started this site to share my design journey.

AMMARAZA combines my first name, Ammara, with the first two letters of my last name, Zaman.

I’m a wife and stay at home mom of three kids based in New York City.

I had big dreams as a teen of being a fashion designer! I went the traditional route and received a BBA in Business Management and worked as a law secretary for a government agency for several years. 

I took sewing, patternmaking and draping classes at Parsons the New School and Fashion Institute of Technology starting in 2011. It was my first real introduction to sewing and creating patterns and I was hooked! When I started making tunics (thobes) for my son, I noticed how well received those designs were, and I created a brand of contemporary boys’ tunics, which I design and manufacture locally. I resigned from my job a while after my second daughter was born. As a stay at home mama of three now, my dreams and goals have changed as my life has. I continue to create boys’ tunics for my kids brand, and I spend time making clothing for myself too. It gives me joy to create one-of-a-kind pieces that I wear and style in my own photos.

So I created this website to share my designs, sewing projects, and style photos. At the end of the day, fashion design is my passion and sewing and styling brings my creative vision together.

On this site, you’ll find (mostly) self-drafted designs which I style with clothing & accessories from my closet, makeup from my vanity, or my home decor.
